Fuseproject website: “The collaboration between GE Ecomagination and fuseproject has led to the GE WattStation, an electric vehicle charging station that is designed for public and private spaces.
fuseproject’s vision for the WattStation is an electric-car-charger design that is as durable as street furniture, as visible as a light beacon, and as beautiful as street greenery.”
I was very surprised when I heard about this, obviously we have heard about the Electric sports cars and now seeing lots of hybrid cars out there. However the concept of a charging station sitiuated on the street is a radical yet innovative solution to the question everyone will ask, when thinking about buying a electric car. I’m not convinced about electric cars but with the power house that is called ‘GE’ behind this, it looks very likely, Electric Cars are the future. Well at least this new soft and distinctive friendly icon, expressed through a cylindrical body that flares toward the top and becomes the circular interface, is a product I would be very happy to see on our streets. Certainly over the robotic parking machines that litter our beautiful London streets.
