Elegant and humane mouse/ rat traps

I love these two very simple traps by Roger Arquer (top image) and Aakash Dewan (bottom image), and how the problem is elegantly solved.

MOUSE IN A PINT by Roger Arquer (top image). Non-lethal mouse trap. Mouse in a Pint is a beer glass upside down. It has a bread stick attached to a spring, tilting the glass so the mouse can get in. Once the breadstick is being nibbled, it breaks and the glass collapses, keeping the mouse inside.

ONEDOWN by Aakash Dewan DSK ISD International School of Design (bottom image) is a humane rat trap. The trap rests precariously in a horizontal position on a circular foot. Bait inside would lure the rat into the trap, a metal insert in the base coupled with the weight of the rat will tip the trap and bring it to a vertical position indicating that a rat has been trapped. Then the rat can be released instead of killed.
